The Azkals Development Team (ADT) secured a 2021 Copa Paulino Alcantara Cup semifinals ticket after demolishing Mendiola 1991, 9-0, at the PFF National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

It was a merciless outing for the youngsters of the ADT as they just outperformed the veteran Mendiola team both offensively and defensively.

The collective effort from the ADT team paid off huge as stars Jarvey Gayoso, Mar Diano, and Christian Rontini played top-notch football in the win.

“We all did our parts. We wanted to keep working hard no matter what the scoreline was. It was a do-or-die match so we had to make sure that we got the win. We wanted to bounce back,” said Gayoso.

From the get-go, the ADT team immediately found their groove courtesy of a Gayoso penalty at the 16th minute.

The young team would then double the cushion when Dennis Chung had a dazzling individual goal 13 minutes after the Gayoso conversion.

From there, ADT never looked back and continued to pile up the points, scoring seven more, awarding them three points in Group B to enter the semifinals.
