The Asian Football Confederation confirmed that they are halting all football operations for the remaining days in March and the whole of April due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Suspension of all football operations includes the 2020 AFC Cup, where Philippine representatives Ceres-Negros FC and Kaya FC-Iloilo have incoming matches in the said dates.

Ceres-Negros has a hectic April schedule, having two games against Bali United and Phan Khan Reach Svay Rieng on April 14 and April 29, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Iloilo based squad has the same two-game April campaign, taking on PSM Makassar on April 15 and United FC on April 28.

Currently, the busmen are leading group G with seven points while Kaya ranks at number two in group H with 5 points.

Aside from the 2020 AFC Cup, the most prized football tournament in the Philippines, the Philippines Football League, was also halted by AFC.

“PFF continues to urge the general public, all football stakeholders, and fans to take all necessary health and safety precautions in combating the spread of COVID-19,” a statement read from the Philippines Football Federation.
