Aklan, Iloilo City PNP cited for police community efforts

The Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) and the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) were declared winners in the recently concluded 25th Police Community Relations (PCR) Month celebration.

Aklan was named Outstanding PPO of the year for PCR while Iloilo City was awarded as outstanding CPO of the year.

The San Jose Municiplal Police Station in Antique bested other police stations to win the Outstanding MPS of the Year in Police Community Relations.

The culminating ceremony was held virtually on Thursday, July 30, at the Madia-as Hall in Camp Martin Teofilo Delgado, Iloilo City.

The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) kicked off the PCR month with a ceremony on July 1. A series of PCR activities were conducted regionwide such as bloodletting, gift giving, poster making, etc.

Aside from unit awardees, PRO-6 also cited individual awardees.

Police Lieutenant Eduardo Corpuz of Victorias City Police Station was named Outstanding PCR Senior Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) of the Year while Police Captain Peter John Pisuena of Jamindan Municipal Police Station is the Outstanding Junior PCO of the Year.

On the other hand, Police Executive Master Sergeant Donna Asmod of Capiz PPO is the Outstanding PCR Junior PNCO of the year and NUP Rennie G Baticos of the Regional Community Affairs Development Division as Outstanding PCR Non-Uniformed Personnel of the year.

Police Colonel Gilbert Gorero, PRO-6 spokesperson, said that unit awards were adjudged based on the unit performance rating composed of their records in the community affairs section; police operations section; family, juvenile, gender, and development; information section; plans and programs affairs; and Salaam police desks.

Meanwhile, individual awardees were rated based on the performance evaluation rating at 60 percent; aptitude rating at 30 percent; awards received (from PNP – 15 percent and civic and local government organizations – 15 percent) at 30 percent.

MORE Electric Power Corporation was named Best Organizational/Stakeholder while Tommy Que, Vice Chairman for Internal Affairs of Iloilo Supermart, for Other Supportive Organization/Stakeholder awardee.

Iloilo Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. was the guest of honor during the activity.

This year’s PCR Month adopted the theme, “Pinaigting na Ugnayan ng Mamamayan at Pulisya Laban sa Covid-19 Pandemya.”
