One of the premier big men in the NBA is bidding goodbye to the sport after a 15-year career.

LaMarcus Aldridge announced his retirement from the league through his social media account after getting diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat.

During his stint with the San Antonio Spurs, Aldridge was always listed as doubtful for most of the games and the description was “non-Covid related” just after the NBA bubble edition in Orlando.

After getting traded to the Brooklyn Nets, Aldridge still wasn’t able to suit up for all of the games despite being cleared to play.

“For 15 years I’ve put basketball first, and now, it is time to put my health and my family first,” Aldridge wrote in his social media post.

Aldridge was one of the most unstoppable forces when he was still the franchise player of the Portland Trailblazers.

Tagged as one of the best shooting perimeter forwards in the league, Aldridge eventually signed with the San Antonio Spurs.

Aldridge had a couple of memorable playoff runs with the Spurs but never achieved the ultimate goal of making it to the NBA finals.
