Filipina tennis sensation Alex Eala just soared to a new career-high in the doubles category of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).
After reaching the 302nd rank in doubles five months ago, Eala just continued to raise the bar high after clinching the world no. 155 spot which is already uploaded on the official website of the WTA.
Eala is currently having a magnificent doubles run in the ongoing International Tennis Federation (ITF) Spain 24A tournament after reaching the quarterfinal round together with her partner, Estelle Cascino of France.
The tandem of Eala & Cascino took down the home bets during the Round of 16 stage, Jimena Gomez and Carolina Gomez in just two straight sets.
In the quarterfinal round, Eala & Cascino will face the star-studded pairing of Victoria Bervid and Laura Mair.
Eala & Cascino are looking to replicate their Cinderella campaign during the ITF W75 Open 3C de Seine et Marne tournament held in France last March.
As a result of their consistent brand of tennis from the first round, Eala & Cascino were able to set foot in the grand final round and ended up winning the championship title, claiming her second professional doubles trophy.
After their win in France, Eala’s rank quickly jumped higher and further improved when she qualified in the playoff round of the next ITF doubles circuits.
Aside from her brilliance in doubles, Eala is also targeting a better ranking in the singles category of the WTA.
Eala is expecting to improve her singles rank after earlier taking down Lian Tran to reach the Round of 16 stage of the ITF Spain 24A.
