MORE Power, the distribution utility in Iloilo City, vowed to sue 27 households that were allegedly caught stealing electricity Tuesday morning.
20 households are located at Brgy. Hipodromo, City Proper while 7 are in Bo. Obrero, Lapuz.
MORE Power personnel claimed to have caught the families tapping to the secondary line in a series of operations 4 am Tuesday.
According to a report by MORE Power, the alleged power pilferers used alligator clips to skip the meters and directly connect to the distribution lines.
So far, the distribution utility has identified 14 suspects who will be charged for violation of the Anti-Electricity Pilferage and Theft Law.
MORE Power said it has sued 21 persons for alleged power pilferage.
