The Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) Generals just suffered its biggest blow heading into the NCAA Season 99 men’s basketball tournament.

In the collegiate scene’s latest development of the off-season, EAC superstar Allen Liwag, one of the most talented big men in the NCAA, will be leaving the Generals effective immediately.

Liwag’s basketball management team EOG announced the shocking news on their social media pages last January 7, 2023.

It will be a tough loss for the Generals as Liwag became their top star and brightest prospect heading into Season 99 after the six-foot-six do-it-all player averaged 9.87 points, 8.62 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game during Season 98.

Liwag quickly caught the attention of the collegiate hoops scene after putting up monster performances including a 22-point outing against the Mapua Cardinals last October 2022.

Aside from his quick feet for a big man, Liwag’s guard skills especially his handles and perimeter shooting made him one of the toughest players to guard in the NCAA.

His quick rise in the NCAA was also noticed by the Gilas Pilipinas men’s national basketball team after rewarding him with a spot in the pool for the 2023 FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers.

Liwag is currently shooting the lights out in the ongoing Philippine Super League (PSL) for the Pampanga Royce.

Pampanga is owned by Filipino athlete now turned businessman Jacob Lao. The former Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagle is also the owner of hoops squad Strong Group which is set to represent the Philippines in the Dubai Invitational tournament.

According to several sources, Liwag is set to choose between the San Beda Red Lions and the College of Saint Benilde (CSB) Blazers as his next destination.

However, they verified that Liwag is already on his way to the Charles Tiu-mentored Blazers squad that recently failed in the NCAA grand finals against the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights.
