The Meralco Bolts are a team on a mission.

Failing to taste revenge against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel in their last two finals clash, head coach Norman Black said this is the perfect time for them to get back at GSM.

Coach Black admitted that their weakness during their last two downfalls against GSM in the finals was their frontcourt, and this year, adding Raymond Almazan to their roster will be the edge and the difference-maker in the series that will start today.

Black explained that what they lacked the past years will be remedied by Almazan’s solid paint defense and the will to win every day.

Almazan’s presence was highly felt during their semifinals slugfest with the TNT Katropa where he helped contain KJ Mcdaniels in the paint, limiting his paint production and zoning him out from his comfort spots a lot.

A former Gilas Pilipinas standout who took the limelight in their FIBA Cup qualifier game against China, Almazan is known for his tough defense underneath coupled with his emerging offensive production.
