BACOLOD City – An ambulant vendor is back in jail for another rape case.

Police Captain Portia Nillosan, head of the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the 40-year-old suspect was arrested in Barangay Bata here last Monday, two days after the incident happened in Barangay 40 last Saturday.

Nillosan said the suspect allegedly sexually molested a 12-year-old girl at their boarding house.

The suspect called the victim when she passed by his room on Saturday morning after her mother left for work.

The victim entered the suspect’s room, assuming that he might need something from her since the suspect had previously borrowed a charger from her.

However, the suspect allegedly threatened her at knifepoint and committed the crime, Nillosan said.

Nillosan believed that the suspect might have waited for that opportunity.

Nillosan said the suspect attempted to run away but policemen were able to corner him in a hot pursuit operation in Barangay Bata.

Based on the results of the medical examination, the victim, who is a Grade 7 student was positive for sexual abuse, according to Nillosan.

She said the suspect had a previous rape case in Pampanga and is currently under probation.

Meanwhile, the suspect, over an interview with Aksyon Radyo Bacolod, denied the allegations against him claiming that he has no idea about the incident.

The WCPD filed on Wednesday, April 19, rape charges against the suspect who is detained at Police Station 6.
