BACOLOD City – Being amputated is not a hindrance for a man to go to the vaccination center and get protected against COVID-19 in Negros Occidental.

Ramiro Balderas, 51, of Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City, was among the thousands of Negrenses who was inoculated during the national vaccination drive on Tuesday.

Balderas, a father of four, is a former tricycle driver. He is diabetic which led to the amputation of his left leg.

But it did not hinder him to take part in addressing the pandemic by getting vaccinated.

Two barangay watchmen carried Balderas upon his arrival at the vaccination center as he has no wheelchair.

Balderas got his first dose of Pfizer vaccine. He said he decided to be vaccinated because his wife urged him to do so.

But he said he also wants to go places without worrying about his safety from the virus.
