The Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority (ECA) is calling for applications for the fifth cohort of the Anjal Z Techstars Founder Catalyst Program, in partnership with Techstars.
This initiative, designed for startups focusing on early childhood development (ECD), provides mentorship, localization, and funding support to drive innovation in the sector.
Dr. Yousef Alhammadi, Executive Director of Knowledge and Impact at the ECA, emphasized the program’s significance: “As we embark on our fifth cohort, the launch of the Anjal Z program application underscores Abu Dhabi’s thriving startup ecosystem. Our program offers selected startups a unique blend of mentorship, financing, and access to collaborative opportunities.”
The program targets startups addressing ECA’s key pillars: health and nutrition, early care and education, child protection, and family support. Additionally, the upcoming cohort will focus on three thematic areas:
- Intentional Parenting: This theme supports holistic child development and positive parenting behaviors in both digital and physical environments.
- Culture and Identity: Emphasizing UAE heritage, this theme aims to strengthen children’s cultural identity and social ties.
- Sustainable and Family-Friendly Cities: This theme integrates child-centered urban planning with sustainability, promoting healthy development and social unity.
Zoe Evans, Senior Program Manager at Techstars, highlighted the global impact of the program: “This week marks a pivotal moment for global innovation as we proudly open applications for Cohort 05. With a focus on Positive Parenting, Culture & Identity, and Sustainable & Family-Friendly Cities, this cohort promises transformative opportunities for participants.”
The Anjal Z program, running from August to November 2024, offers two distinct tracks:
– Ignite Track: For early-stage startups with monthly recurring revenue (MRR) under $20,000. This track includes virtual masterclasses, mentorship, and pitch feedback.
– Launch Track: For established startups with an MRR over $20,000. This track features a four-week in-person program in Abu Dhabi, masterclasses, mentorship, and non-equity funding up to $270,000.
The final four weeks of the program will take place in Abu Dhabi, providing founders with market strategy refinement and expansion opportunities within the Middle East.
The Anjal Z Techstars program has established itself as a unique accelerator, offering non-equity funding and access to a network of local partners. It supports startups in launching or scaling their businesses, combining innovation with tradition to achieve global impact.
Founders interested in applying for the Anjal Z Techstars Founder Catalyst program can submit their applications until Friday, June 28, 2024.
