BACOLOD City – Another member of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) here tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

This was confirmed on Wednesday to Daily Guardian by Police Colonel Romy Palgue, Nocppo director.

Palgue said the infected policeman was assigned to the 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, and was previously deployed to one of the hotels here being used as quarantine center.

He is the second Nocppo personnel infected by the virus, Palgue added.

Police officers assigned to quarantine facilities would usually render 15 days of duty and are swabbed before they take a day off, the provincial director said.

Palgue said the infected cop has not visited the headquarters here.

His swab test result came out early this month. He is currently at the Mambukal Resort in Murcia town for his 14-day quarantine.

Last month, a member of the same unit assigned in a hotel also tested positive, and has already recovered from the infection.
