Antique stores get 2019 Bagwis Seals

SAN JOSE, Antique – Four retail establishments in the province of Antique were awarded the Bagwis Seal from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region VI for their steadfast compliance to Fair Trade Laws.

Gian’s Enterprise and V-Brent’s Enterprises both under the Specialty Store category (selling school and office supply) were recipients of Silver and Bronze Seal award, respectively.

F & A Commercial Center operating in Tobias Fornier, Antique was awarded the Bronze seal under the Grocery Store Category and also the first store outside of San Jose de Buenavista, Antique’ capital town who received the Bagwis Seal.

Mr. Kuryente Electrical Retail Shop retained the Bagwis Silver Seal award after it was revalidated this year and was found to be compliant with all the Bagwis parameters.

Trade and Industry Development Specialist and the Bagwis Program Account Officer Glen Fernando said that the cited establishments were recognized for promoting business ethics and upholding a fair and honest marketplace through voluntary self-regulation and service excellent.

Fernando said that any business establishments such as supermarkets/grocery stores, department stores, appliance stores, hardware stores, convenience stores, specialty stores and DTI-accredited service and repair shops are qualified for the Bagwis award.  They may apply either for Bronze, Silver or Gold levels.

As of December 2019, a total of 10 business establishments in the province of Antique were recipients of the Bagwis seals. (DTI/PIA-Antique)
