Antique’s Top Fugitive Arrested in Libertad

Antique province’s most wanted person was arrested the evening of November 11 in Libertad, Antique.

The suspect, alias Jim, 28, a laborer from Barangay Centro Este, Libertad, was apprehended in Barangay Taboc.

He faces four counts of violating Republic Act 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997) and four counts of violating Republic Act 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act), under Criminal Case Nos. 24-L-070 to 073-CR and 24-L-074 to 077-CR, respectively.

Judge Josefina Fulo Muego of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) 6, Branch 13, in Culasi, Antique, issued the arrest warrant on September 11, 2024.

No bail was recommended for the RA 8353 violations, while PHP 180,000 bail was set for each count under RA 7610.

Members of the Libertad Municipal Police Station, along with personnel from the Antique Police Provincial Office – Provincial Intelligence Unit (AnPPO-PIU) and the 2nd Antique Provincial Mobile Force Company, carried out the arrest.

The suspect is now detained pending further proceedings in his case.
