One of the greatest football players in history, Diego Maradona, died at the age of 60 after suffering a heart attack that put a pause in the whole football community.

Maradona just came out of the hospital after having an operation in his brain for a subdural hematoma due to concerns over anemia and dehydration and was already feeling comfortable for two weeks straight.

After hearing the disheartening news, Argentina’s president, Alberto Fernandez, immediately announced that a three-day national mourning will be observed.

The Argentine Football Association also showed their deepest condolences to the Maradona family through its president Claudio Tapia.

Argentinian legend Maradona will forever be remembered for his “Hand of God” goal against powerhouse England where he appeared to help the ball get into the net by pushing it in the air that put a swerve and later on kissed the post.

Maradona’s astonishing performance during the 1986 FIFA World Cup brought them all the way to the championship round where they would face the mighty West Germany squad and clinch the title with a score of 3-2.
