Army, police nab two most wanted persons

BACOLOD City – The Army’s 15th Infantry Battalion (IB) and the police arrested two most wanted persons (MWPs) in Negros Occidental, at Sitio Mahayag, Barangay Dancalan, Ilog town last week.

The Army identified the suspects as Vicente Lamintac, 26; and Junel Abendan, 34, both residents of Sitio Banuyo, Barangay Libacao, Himamaylan City.

Both suspects were arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant with no bail recommended for robbery with homicide.

Judge Walter Zorilla of Regional Trial Court Branch 55 in Himamaylan City issued the warrant.

The duo was are detained at Himamaylan City Police Station.

Lieutenant Colonel Erwin Cariño, 15th IB commander, said the successful operation was a result of a joint intelligence-driven operation and collaboration of all law enforcement agencies.

“The 15th IB, together with other law enforcement counterparts, will remain vigilant to anyone who was trying to destroy the peace and order of Negros,” Cariño said.
