One of the most prized centers the PBA has seen is set to play another season in the league.
Asi Taulava has been attending daily practice sessions with NLEX Road Warriors in preparation for the next season.
Marking his 21st season in the league, the Fil-Tongan center is also on his way in setting a PBA record as the first player to play in four different decades of the PBA.
NLEX head coach Yeng Guiao said that most probably Taulava is set to play for the next season but they are still determining what kind of contract they are going to offer him.
The contract evaluation includes assessing Taulava’s capability with a full-year contract, a half-year contract, or a conference contract.
Guiao said Taulava’s presence will be crucial to NLEX’s locker room as he was one of the main reasons for Poy Erram’s maturity as a player, the same with Raul Soyud and JR Quinahan.
“Kailangan na rin kasi ma-elevate na ‘yung nasa baba para mag-umpisa na rin ‘yung transition,” Guiao said.
