The 2021 Asian Youth Para Games moves forward with the Host City Contract having been formally signed with Bahrain as the main venue of the event.
A delegation from the Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) arrived for an ongoing site visit of the sports venues and later conducted the contract signing ceremony together with the Local Organizing Committee.
Present were APC President Majid Rashed, CEO Tarek Souei, Bahrain Paralympic Committee Chairman His Excellency Shaikh Mohammed bin Duaij AL Khalifa and BPC Secretary-General Ali Mohamed AL Majed.
After the contract signing ceremony, the APC delegation and the Local Organizing Committee discussed further improvements for the upcoming grand event and finalized some phases.
“I’m delighted that we have finally been able to visit Bahrain and conduct this ceremony. Both organizations have continued to work on the delivery of the Games throughout the pandemic but to be here and to meet in person gives us all a huge boost. The Games are important stepping stones for young Asian para-athletes on their sporting journey,” said APC President Rashed.
Two of the most popular para-athletes, Ahmed Alhindawi and Zainah Abdulqadeer, were also present in the ceremony and were key contributors to the meeting.
