BACOLOD City – A 9-year-old aspiring vlogger from Barangay Bata here earned praises and support from netizens for being positive, despite having only two subscribers on Youtube.
Mary Grace Escober, a pupil of Bata Elementary School, went viral after she posted a photo on Facebook on October 12 showing her celebrating her small success of having two subscribers on Youtube.
To mark her achievement, Escober showcased her creativity by preparing a Quake choco burst at home and designed it with pop rice and matches as a treat for herself.
Her viral post garnered 249,000 reactions, 20,400 comments, and 83,500 shares, as of this posting.
Since that viral photo, Escober has more reasons to celebrate after gaining more than 100,000 subscribers on Youtube overnight.
Many netizens cheered for her and even helped her gain more subscribers by also promoting her Youtube account.
Netizens admired her for being appreciative of small achievements at her young age.
At present, she now has 144,000 Youtube subscribers, with five vlogs posted. She celebrated her new achievement on Wednesday with her parents.
“Masayang-masaya po ako. Nagpapasalamat ako sa lahat ng sumuporta po sa akin,” Escober said.
She said she already received the help of an editor in Manila to edit her videos for free.
She said that she started vlogging four months ago just for fun as she’s fond of watching videos online. In fact, vlogger Zeinab Harake is her idol.
She said she just used her smartphone to do vlogs at home. “Gusto ko lang magpasadya sa mga tawo,” she added.
Meanwhile, her mother Cecilia Escober said they are so proud of her daughter’s achievement.
“Wala kami nag expect na mag viral siya kay gahampang man lang na siya diri sa amon. Nakibot kami na amo na na ang natabo,” she said.
Mary Grace is an only child and a consistent honor student in school.
“Suportahan gid na siya namon basta indi niya lang man pagpabay-an iya pag eskwela,” her mother said.
Her mother said that Mary Grace is fond of making Tiktok videos as well as filming herself.
She said there’s an agency from Manila who already offered to handle Mary Grace, but they haven’t agreed on it yet.
