The Atlanta Hawks played major spoilers to Stephen Curry’s 60-point explosion as they edged the Golden State Warriors in overtime, 141-134, in the ongoing NBA regular season last February 4, 2024.

Despite Curry’s offensive barrage, the Hawks were able to hang on as their balanced scoring attack proved to be too much for the Warriors.

Six players were able to reach double-digits for Atlanta led by their superstar point guard Trae Young who dropped 35 points, six assists, and a steal.

Backstopping Young was enforcer center Onyeka Okongwu who tallied 22 points and 16 rebounds while his frontcourt mate Jalen Johnson had 21 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists.

Dejounte Murray and Clint Capela also played huge for the Hawks as the duo chipped in 19 markers each while veteran marksman Bogdan Bogdanovic added 13 points.

With the game deadlocked at 121-all in the remaining 20 seconds of the game, Curry nearly capped off his stellar night with a win when he gave Golden State the lead, 123-121, off a floater in the middle of the shaded lane.

However, Murray answered back in the next offensive possession for the Hawks when he drained the equalizing perimeter jumper, 123-all.

Curry had one last chance to steer the Warriors to a win but his final shot attempt with only 4.1 seconds left went too strong off the glass.

During the start of the overtime period, the Warriors look gassed as they missed all of their attempts in the first three minutes of the extension.

Atlanta then capitalized on the opportunity and just steamrolled its way in overtime, extending its biggest lead of the game to 11 points, 134-123, after a Murray perimeter jump shot in the left elbow.

With another victory, the Hawks just extended its winning streak to four straight games and will have the chance to extend it on February 6, 2024, against the Los Angeles Clippers.
