AU Chiefsquad takes its fifth straight crown: NCAA Season 99 Cheerleading Competition airs on GTV this Sunday

Time to cheer loud and proud as the intense battle among the schools in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 99 Cheerleading Competition airs on GTV this Sunday, June 23, at 10:30 a.m. The competition will also be streamed on the social media pages of GMA Sports and NCAA Philippines.

Held last June 19 at the FilOil EcoOil Centre in San Juan City, the competition saw the defending champion AU Chiefsquad flaunting a near-perfect routine, trouncing the rest of the teams to clinch their fifth straight NCAA cheerleading crown. Completing as podium finishers were the silver medalist Altas Perpsquad and bronze medalist Letran Cheering Squad.

“With GMA Network as the proud home of the NCAA, we are honored to show to the rest of the world the exceptional performances of the competing schools during the  NCAA Season 99 Cheerleading Competition via its TV broadcast on GTV. All 10 NCAA schools deserve a big round of applause as the hard work and determination they have poured in for the grueling competition have undeniably manifested through their creative, in-sync, and jaw-dropping routines. We invite everyone to witness their performances that showcase their school spirit this Sunday on GTV,” said Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy Oliver Victor B. Amoroso.

As NCAA Season 99 draws to a close,  José  Rizal University has turned over the hosting rights to Lyceum of the Philippines University for the upcoming NCAA Season 100.

GMA Synergy sportscaster Martin Javier and NCAA Season 99 Courtside Reporter Lexi Gonzales were the program hosts of the NCAA Season 99 Cheerleading Competition.

Adding an extra dose of entertainment to the exciting competition is the mesmerizing performance of Sparkle artist Zephanie.
