The average daily COVID-19 rate in Iloilo City has been down by 60% for the month of January, according to the Iloilo City COVID-19 Team.
From 15 daily average cases recorded on December 1 to 10 last year, the number from January 1 to 10 is only at 6.
This translates to 147 recorded cases on the first week of December compared to 55 cases recorded from January 1 to 10.
For the month of January, Iloilo City recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases in a day last January 9 with 14 cases followed by 10 cases on January 2.
Meanwhile, Iloilo City registered single digit cases last January 4 to 8 and January 10. The city recorded zero cases of COVID-19 last January 3.
On January 11, the city only recorded nine cases.
Despite the significant drop of COVID-19 cases, Mayor Jerry Treñas reminded the public to practice the minimum health standards as the city prepares to move forward for the immunization of the city residents.
“For the nth time, I ask for the help of everyone to always stay protected for the safety of our community. The Iloilo City government is now looking for additional vaccines that will immunize more Ilonggos as our way to move forward,” he said in his Facebook page. (ERS)
