After an outstanding stint with Cardiff City, PH Azkals goalkeeper Neil Etheridge is off to another path after his services were acquired by Birmingham FC.

Etheridge emerged as one of England’s promising net defenders during his illustrious three-year run with Cardiff after helping the squad get promoted to the Premier League in his first season.

“The past 3 years we’ve had such an amazing time together, being promoted in my first season to the Premier League, and even though we were relegated we gave it a right go in the best league in the world!” wrote Etheridge in his lengthy Instagram post.

Under the Cardiff uniform, Etheridge was able to make history as the first-ever Southeast Asian football player to be selected as an official member of an English Premier League squad.

This was made possible after Etheridge and his crew racked up the needed wins to get their long-awaited promotion.

One of the highlights of Etheridge’s career with his former team was when he got selected to be the Cardiff City Player of the Year awardee during the 2018-2019 season after recording 10 clean saves in 38 match appearances.

With Etheridge now joining another team, he vows to make Birmingham FC a better team upon his arrival.
