BACOLOD City – Lone District Rep Greg Gasataya confirmed that the groundbreaking of the Bacolod City General Hospital is on September 9, 2022.
Gasataya said the total allocation for the 120-bed hospital is P450 million, including the P200 million from Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri who will attend the groundbreaking.
Republic Act 11564, which establishes the Bacolod City General Hospital, was signed into law by former President Rodrigo Duterte on June 24, 2021.
Gasataya authored House Bill 6731 for the establishment of the said hospital while Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri, who traces his roots to Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, sponsored the counterpart Senate Bill 1647.
Gasataya also said that the P450 million allocation is just for the structure as he has requested the Department of Health for more funds for the hospital equipment.
The hospital will be situated in the four-hectare lot in Barangay Vista Alegre donated by the Gensoli family.
