In recognition of his “invaluable and selfless service” to the City of Bacolod, particularly to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), Mayor Evelio Leonardia signed Executive Order No. 71 series of 2020, bestowing “appreciation and profound gratitude” to Dr. Ralph Nico Selibio, at rites at the Bacolod City Government Center today [Nov. 18].
Selibio is a consultant on COVID-19 response of the World Health Organization (WHO). The United Nations specialized agency for international public health has assigned him to Bacolod City on Sept. 20, 2020 to help in the city’s efforts to curb the spread of the disease.
He spent long hours working with the EOC Task Force, sharing his knowledge and expertise, unfailingly rendered thoughtful suggestions and timely procedural advice, specifically on contact tracing strategies and prevention measures.
“For two months of working with the people of Bacolod City in the formulation of effective actions and interventions to contain the spread of COVID-19, Dr. Selibio has generously shared his time, expertise, and invaluable service for the welfare of the Bacoleños,” the executive order states.
“The dedicated service of Dr. Selibio, together with the EOC Task Force, has resulted to the lowering of COVD-19 cases in Bacolod City,” it also read.
“The citizens of Bacolod City wish to express their appreciation and profound gratitude to Dr. Selibio, who diligently and unselfishly rendered his services to help the city government in the fight against COVID-19,” it added.
Dr. Selibio is a Bacolodnon and a graduate of University of St. La Salle – College of Medicine.
Leonardia signed Executive Order 71 in the presence of Dr. Selibio before presenting it to him, during the daily huddle of the EOC Task Force today.
Witnessing the presentation of the executive order were City Administrator Em Ang, executive director and deputy for admin and operations of the EOC, and other officials and members of the EOC. (PIO)
