Bacolod Expects 8,000 Visitors for Key Events

BACOLOD CITY – Bacolod is preparing to welcome about 8,000 visitors from across the country and abroad for major tourism events this month.

One of the highlights is the PAL Interclub Golf Tournament, which runs from Feb. 7 to 21, bringing together more than 2,000 golfers at the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club and other venues.

The tournament, which kicked off on Friday, will feature two weeks of intense competition and camaraderie among top golfers.

Another major event is the 89th National Convention of Local Treasurers and Assessors (PHALTRA), expected to draw 3,000 attendees.

The convention will focus on valuation standardization and reforms and will take place at the SMX Convention Center from Feb. 17 to 20.

Meanwhile, over 3,000 technology enthusiasts will gather for the Bacolod Esports Enthusiasts Convention (BEECON) 2025 on Feb. 15 and 16.

The event will transform Bacolod into an esports hub, attracting players, fans, and organizers for a celebration of gaming culture and innovation.

With the influx of players, officials, and guests, the City Tourism Office said these events are expected to boost local tourism, benefiting hotels, restaurants, and businesses.

The events will further solidify Bacolod’s reputation as a top destination for tourism and major gatherings.
