BACOLOD City – The City Health Office here reported 13 deaths in dengue, as of Oct. 29.
Based on a report from the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) released this week, a total of 890 dengue cases were reported.
This figure is 195.7 percent higher than the cases last year, which is 301 with three deaths, according to Dr. Grace Tan, CESU head. The age range of affected is 1 month to 86 years old.
Barangays Granada and Mansilingan are considered hot spot areas, where there is an increasing number of cases for four consecutive weeks or death cases.
Barangays with clustering cases from Oct. 8 to Oct. 29 were Vista Alegre, Granada, Estefania, Mansilingan, Cabug, Mandalagan, Singcang-Airport, Handimanan, Banago, and Taculing.
These villages have three or more cases within four consecutive weeks.
Barangays with the highest dengue cases are Mansilingan with 109; Taculing, 73; Estefania, 64; Tangub, 59; Singcang-Airport, 57; Villamonte, 52; Alijis, 48; Cabug, 47; Sum-ag and Mandalagan with 43 cases each; Handumanan, 34; Bata, Granada, and Vista Alegre with 31 cases each; and Banago, 25.
