BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) have contributed P2.9 million cash for the Bayanihan Fund Challenge in the fight against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
BCPO led by Police Colonel Henry Biñas raised P905,000 while Nocppo led by Police Colonel Romeo Baleros collected P2,019,000 from the salaries of all police personnel.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, public information officer of BCPO, said that the contributions were voluntary from each policeman.
It is part of the program of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to help the government combat COVID-19, he added.
The following is the breakdown of the contributions per police station: Police Station 1 – P68,000, Police Station 2 – P66,000, Police Station 3 – 75,000, Police Station 4 – P78,000, Police Station 6 – P51,000, Police Station 7 – 35,000, Police Station 8 – P46,000, Police Station 9 – P33,000, Police Station 10 – P35,000.
The funds will be forwarded to Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 in Iloilo City, to be given to the national headquarters for the said purpose, Pico said.
