BACOLOD CITY players dominated the Lopues -Bacolaodiat Invitational Table Tennis Championship 2019 held at the LOPTTA Playing Center, Lopues San Sebastian Annex Building in Bacolod City, Feb. 3, 2019.
James Michael Tancinco defeated JB John Gaviola to capture the 10 & under boys’ division crown while Juan Muñes settled for second runner-up honors.
Jona Mae Gonzales bagged the gold in the girls category after winning over Ameera Bacomo.
In the 13 & under boys’ category, Negros Dirk Nikhole Atilano claimed the crown after sweeping his teammate Shaun Rain Jardinico, 3-0 in the finals. Joaquin Bragancia claimed second runner-up.
Veteran paddler Micah Tanate ruled the women’s division after defeating Mariella Mabaquiao in the finals as Gems Gellang ended in third place.
Janley Manzanares took the mens open after dominating James Saligumba in the championship round, leaving Cris Lester Rejon to finish in third place.
In the mens executive event, Garry Trasporto outplayed Pastor Allan Tupas in the finals, while Monico (Nicky) Puentevella Jr. got the second runner up.
Timon Villanueva took the womens executive B gold medal by winning over Vanessa Puentevella in the championship match. Ma. Lee Trasporto ranked second runner-up.
In the Veterans (60 & Above) event, Felipe Epitacio won the title after beating Rev. Joel Valdez in the finals.
Organized by LOPTTA headed by Dr. Leonito Diotay D. Lopue, the event was participated by paddlers coming from towns of Toboso, Murcia, La Castellana, San Enrique, Moises Padilla and Binalbagan as well as cities of Sagay, Cadiz, Silay, Talisay, La Carlota, and Bacolod.
This annual tournament is the result of LOPTTAs mission-vision and as part of the Chinese New Year- BacoLaodiat Festival celebration.
