BACOLOD City – Ten police stations here have already put up their own community pantries dubbed “Barangayanihan food stalls” in their respective areas since Thursday, April 22, 2021.
Police Lieutenant Liberty Indiape, information officer of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said station personnel initially took the initiative to buy basic goods to be displayed at the pantry for residents covered by their area of jurisdiction.
After launching the project, all police stations started accepting donations from various stakeholders and individuals, Indiape said.
As more people flock into the community pantries, Indiape said that policemen continue to regulate them to make sure that they follow health protocols.
“Gina check gid naton kung ga comply gid sila sa safety protocols,” she added.
Indiape said that residents can get anything that they need from the pantries for their respective households.
For the BCPO personnel, Indiape said they are planning to start their mobile community pantry this week.
Indiape said it is intended for the families of the BCPO personnel who are under quarantine.
