Bacolod police net P6.8-M worth of ‘shabu’ in May 2022

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized a total of P6.8 million worth of illegal drugs here last month.

In a press release, the BCPO said they conducted 42 police operations and arrested 50 personalities. They also confiscated 1011.962 grams of suspected shabu from May 1 to 31.

The arrested individuals included 34 alleged drug pushers, and 16 purported drug users. A total of 56 cases were already filed in court.

In the campaign against wanted persons, the city police force conducted 39 operations during the month-long intensified police operations.

These resulted in the arrest of 13 Most Wanted Persons and 26 Other Wanted Persons charged with various offenses.

The BCPO also conducted 11 operations and confiscated 10 loose firearms while one was arrested and charged for violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Law.

In the campaign against all forms of illegal gambling, the BCPO conducted 12 operations and apprehended 44 persons. All suspects have already been charged in court.

Police Colonel Thomas Joseph Martir, BCPO director, commended the operating units and its personnel for a job well done in their relentless effort to stop all forms of criminality.

He also reminded the personnel to be always motivated to do their job to make the city safe and peaceful amid the pandemic.
