BACOLOD CITY – Police here confiscated an estimated P904,400 worth of suspected shabu over the weekend.

City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) operatives conducted the largest drug recovery recently, seizing 130 grams of suspected shabu valued at P884,000 during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Handumanan.

Renelyn Rusiana, 36, from the said village, was identified by the police as a high-value individual.

CDEU head Police Captain Joven Mogato reported that Rusiana was allegedly acting as a drug runner and courier, as well as a supposed “bodegera” of the illegal drugs.

“The suspect would purportedly deliver the contraband to the customer based on her contact’s advice, or the customer would come to her house to retrieve the item,” Mogato explained.

He added that payments for the illegal drugs were made through digital transactions.

Mogato mentioned it took two weeks to monitor Rusiana and confirm the community-supplied allegations of her illegal activities.

“The suspect’s husband is incarcerated for robbery. We are investigating whether she has ties with a drug syndicate,” the CDEU chief said.

Also found on Rusiana were P10,000 in boodle money and P200.

In a related arrest, another alleged drug group member was apprehended with three grams of suspected shabu worth P20,400 in Barangay 28 last Saturday.

The 47-year-old male suspect, previously imprisoned for drug offenses, is currently detained at Police Station 6.
