ROXAS CITY, Capiz – 21 poor household Capicenos will benefit from the housing project dubbed “Bahayanihan Project” of the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO).

Police Colonel Julio Gustilo Jr., Capiz police director, said nine houses were already turned over to the beneficiaries recently, while more are under construction by police in the different towns of Capiz.

The police director clarified that the amount used in the construction came from the pocket of the police officer, local government units, and some individuals with the intention to uplift the life of the homeless poor.

He stressed that proper validation was conducted before a beneficiary can avail of the house.

Gustilo said they receive donations either money or construction materials.

“I never expect that a lot of individuals have shared their blessings the reasons why more beneficiaries will avail of the projects,” he added.

Three of the most recent beneficiaries were from Roxas City, Dao and Dumarao.

The Roxas City PNP and Capiz PPO turned over the Bahaynihan Program: Bahay at Kabuhayan Nila Handog Namin, Kapwa ko Sagot Ko to a poor resident here.

The turnover was led by Gustilo and Roxas City PNP chief Ricardo Jomuad Jr. to Arnold Joseph of Sitio Nipa Culasi Roxas City.

Joseph stopped working as a carpenter for five years after suffering from stroke.

Joseph thanked project stakeholders for the donation.

Other beneficiaries were Marilyn Estorninos of Brgy. Matagnop, Dao; and Rodrigo Hoquireza of Purok 7, Brgy Janguslob, Dumarao, Capiz.
