A barangay health worker and her alleged cohort were arrested following an anti-illegal drug operation afternoon of Sept. 28, 2020 at Roxas City, Capiz.
Police identified the suspects as Elvie Albaladejo, 47, and her runner, Amando Anonat, 35, both residents of Barangay Tanza Gua, Roxas City.
Members of the Roxas City Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 6 (PDEA-6) arrested the suspects after selling a sachet of suspected shabu.
Recovered from the suspects were 11 sachets of suspected shabu with a street value of P54,000, P1,000 buy bust money, and other illegal drug paraphernalia.
Lieutenant Colonel Ricardo Jomuad, Jr., Roxas City police chief, said that Albaladejo is considered a high-value drug personality since she is a government employee.
Police had monitored her activities for weeks before she was finally caught.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) were filed against the suspects Tuesday.
