A riding-in-tandem shooting roused residents and workers near the old Capitol building in San Jose, Antique afternoon of Oct 14, 2021.

The two motorcycle-riding suspects targeted Jose Servano Jr., 41, the barangay treasurer of Del Pilar village in Hamtic, Antique.

Servano was with Barangay Captain Adrian Macuja when the suspects’ motorcycle slowed down near them and pumped a single bullet on the victim’s back.

Macuja said they were walking from the bus stop in front of the DILG building going to a Landbank automotive teller machine (ATM) booth when the incident happened.

The village chief said they were about to withdraw money for their honorarium when the shooting happened.

The suspects immediately fled to an undisclosed direction while the victim was taken to Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital.

Servano was declared dead on arrival.

Macuja said he could not think of any motive for Servano’s killing.
