“It is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
Inspired by these words of Mother Theresa, the Iloilo City Proper Police Station led by Capt. Shella Mae A. Sangrines initiated the BARANGAYANihan Community Pantry at Tanza Church in Iloilo City on April 26, 2021.
The program is in coordination with Tanza Parish Church and ICPO Ladies Club and friends led by Mrs. Ma. Elena Garbanzos. The initiative is also part of the police-community relations of the PNP.
The initiative provided rice, vegetables, noodles, laundry soaps, and other necessities to the needy.
Sangrines said this is in line with the BARANGAYanihan program of the PNP. Its purpose is to intensify the various manners of helping or providing assistance to the public during this pandemic.
It also highlights the Filipino spirit of communal unity and cooperation known as “Bayanihan,” she added.
