BCPO destroys P44,000 worth of seized firecrackers, pyrotechnics

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) disposed P44,650 worth of confiscated firecrackers and pyrotechnics here yesterday.

The items included 14 packs of pyrotechnics and eight boxes of firecrackers worth P2,000 confiscated by Police Station 2, and three improvised cannons or “boga” worth P750 seized by Police Station 5.

Also confiscated by Police Station 6 were 59 pieces of pyrotechnics worth P6,600, 30 pieces of fireworks worth P4,000, 21 pieces of whistle bomb worth P1,000, nine pieces of baby kamara worth P500, 360 five stars worth P3,000, 137 pieces of sparklers worth P7,000, four pieces of silver fountain worth P600, and four boxes of crossfire fireworks worth P500, totalling to P23,200.

Police Station 7 also confiscated eight improvised cannons or “boga” worth P2,000, while Police Station 10 seized 50 pieces of firecrackers worth P1,500, 30 pieces of five star worth P270, 34 pieces of sparklers worth P1,738, four boxes of assorted firecrackers worth P2,692, and 14 improvised cannon or “boga” worth P10,500, totalling to P16,700.

According to the BCPO, the confiscated items were prohibited and illegally sold here.

The confiscated firecrackers were destroyed and buried in a disposal ceremony held at the BCPO headquarters here.
