BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has alerted police stations here, following a robbery incident in Iloilo province last week.

Police Colonel Noel Aliño, BCPO director, said that they want to prevent the possible entry of robbers from Iloilo to the city.

“Baka magtago dito mga holdupper from Iloilo kaya alerto din ang BCPO,” he added.

Aliño said that he has deployed policemen in seaports and also alerted their counterparts like the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) and the Highway Patrol Group (HPG) for monitoring and patrolling.

A few days ago, Bacolod reported a series of robbery and hold-up incidents that prompted Aliño to form Task Force Bantay Holdupper at Akyat-Bahay (B-HAB) to go after the robbers.

Following the creation of the task force, three alleged armed robbers, who were wearing bullet vests, were arrested in a hot pursuit operation in Barangay Alijis here after they robbed a delivery hub of an online shopping platform in Talisay City, Negros Occidental last week.

Just this week, two men were also arrested by police in Barangay Handumanan here after they robbed P156,000 worth of cash, jewelry, and cellular phones.

Aliño said they are intensifying the anti-criminality campaign and maximizing the presence of policemen, especially since the city is celebrating the MassKara Festival.
