BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) will assign personnel in cemeteries and streets despite the suspension of visits during the observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days on Nov 1-2, 2020 amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, BCPO’s public information officer, said that 70 to 80 policemen will be deployed to ensure that no one gets inside cemeteries during said dates.
Pico said they are just waiting for the advice of the local Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) before the deployment.
Earlier, the national IATF issued a resolution to restrict the movement of people during the said holiday by closing all cemeteries, columbaria, and memorial parks from October 29 to November 4, or the week of Undas.
Pico said they must ensure that people will not sneak into cemeteries, particularly those without perimeter fences.
People can visit the cemeteries before the said suspended dates to prevent influx of people especially in the time of the health crisis.
Aside from cemeteries, Pico said police officers will also be visible in streets.
