BACOLOD City – “Huwag niyo kaming guluhin dito, or else may paglalagyan kayo.”

This was the warning of Police Colonel Noel Aliño, director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), to criminal elements who will try to sabotage the peace and order during this year’s MassKara Festival here next month.

Aliño said that he will maximize the security forces during the said festivity, considering that the campaign period for this year’s Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) will also start next month.

Aliño said that the previous celebrations of the MassKara Festival were generally peaceful, thus he will not give a chance to those who will try to ruin the festival.

“Di ako nagbibiro. Huwag niyo guluhin ang citizens ng Bacolod. Tahimik dito,” he said.

Aliño said that he will strengthen their security against criminal elements like snatchers, and drug pushers.

Last year, police arrested nine persons believed to be part of an alleged theft syndicate from Metro Manila during the highlights of the MassKara Festival. Investigation showed that one of them tried to use the stolen credit card in a shopping mall, but fortunately, the owner of the credit card already reported to the bank that it was stolen.

“Huwag kayo dadayo dito ng kalokohan niyo. Mark my word, pag nahuli ko kayo, may paglalagyan kayo,” he stressed.

Aliño said that the BCPO has more than 1,000 personnel, and he is planning to request additional augmentation to ensure intensified security measures during the festivity and the BSKE.
