The Blackwater Bossing just broke a record in the PBA. But it’s one teams actively avoid.

After a disappointing loss against an injury-plagued Meralco Bolts, Blackwater just surpassed Presto’s 18-game losing streak, a record they set way back in the 1980 PBA season.

Blackwater had the chance to end their 19-game skid when Meralco decided to sit out injured stars Chris Newsome, Cliff Hodge, Aaron Black, and Raymar Jose.

Despite the embarrassing PBA record, it was also a huge disappointment for head coach Nash Racela as they let the game slip from their hands.

It was a winnable game for Blackwater after trimming Meralco’s 29-point lead to just five with two minutes left in the last quarter.

Blackwater suddenly caught fire and torched Meralco in the fourth quarter led by the trigger-ready Simon Enciso who buried the trey in the right corner that cut the lead to five.

However, Meralco answered every Blackwater basket and maintained their lead in the last minute of the ball game.

Despite valiant efforts from veterans KG Canaleta, Mike Tolomia, and Enciso, Blackwater will still needs to search for more answers in their quest of breaking their losing spell in the league.
