The Iloilo Bar Operators Association has conducted a comprehensive training for bouncers of bars and clubs in Iloilo City to ensure how to properly address bar fights and other incidents.
The two-day training at the Sta. Teresita Parish compound in Brgy. Nonoy, City Proper is in preparation for the Dinagyang Festival this week.
The training was also facilitated by the Mansor Security Agency of the Philippine National Police.
Newly hired bouncers underwent training on January 21, while a refresher course for existing bouncers will be conducted today, January 23.
Modules for the two-day training included the bouncers ordinance of the city, laws on arrest and search, crime prevention, crowd control and threat detection, communication with bar patrons, and basic first aid.
Prior to this, the Task Force on Morals and Values Formation (TFMVF) of the city government also carried out an inspection of bars, disco pubs, and nightclubs in preparation for the upcoming Dinagyang Festival.
The inspections covered various aspects of business establishments, including permits, in-house security officers, trained bouncers, health cards, smear cards, the installation of CCTV, and adherence to the “curfew for minors” policy.
Ambulant vendors in the city were also inspected to ensure the safety of the food they dispense to spectators.
The TFMVF reported that no irregularities or violations were recorded during the inspections.
