BACOLOD City – A Grade 2 pupil died after he was electrocuted at the park of Cadiz City in Negros Occidental last Saturday.

Police withheld the name of the seven-year-old victim, a resident of Barangay Zone 6.

Lieutenant Colonel Gil John Despi, city police chief, said the victim accompanied by his mother went to the park that night.

But while the victim was playing, he reportedly touched the ground lights at the park.

Despi said the lights have a cover and grilles for safety. But, the kid probably got curious, prompting him to touch it and got grounded.

Despi said the victim was declared dead at the hospital.

It was the first time that such an incident happened at the park, he added.
