Three family members were arrested following a police anti-narcotics operation afternoon of Oct 23, 2021 in Dumangas, Iloilo.
Police identified the suspects as Joesan Docdocil, 40; his biological brother, Clar John Hachenova, 28; and their nephew alias Kokoy 17. All are residents of Barangay Jardin, Dumangas, the area where the buy-bust operation was conducted.
Members of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU-6) and Dumangas Police Station, together with operatives of the Regional Highway Patrol Unit 6 (RHPU-6) and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group 6 (CIDG-6)’s Anti-Illegal Drugs Team, nabbed the suspects around 4:05 p.m. of Saturday after allegedly selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P12,000.
After their arrest, police recovered 23 sachets of suspects shabu, the P12,000 marked money, several drug paraphernalia, other non-drug items, and P900 cash.
The recovered items weigh around 45 grams and has an estimated street value of P300,600.
Major Joeven Arevalo, Dumangas police chief, said Docdocil was the target of the operation.
He is considered as a high-value individual (HVI) drug personality owing to his two previous arrests in the past several years.
The suspect claimed charges against him were dismissed.
But Arevalo said they have yet to verify the status of his case.
Docdocil explained that Clar John is using a different surname following his adoption.
It appears that he had been using his brother and nephew as his runners.
“All along, even Kokoy knew Docdocil’s activities,” Arevalo said.
Docdocil also built a makeshift house where he did his drug trade to spare his family from getting involved.
The three suspects are now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
