Two brothers and their friend were arrested in a police anti-illegal drugs operation in Molo, Iloilo evening of April 4.

Police identified the suspects as Manuel Adanza, 28; his brother Sandy Adanza, 26; and Jie Celiz, 25, all are residents of Zone 4, Barangay North Baluarte, Molo.

Captain Benjie Dicen, Iloilo City Police Station 4 chief, said the suspects were arrested at the Adanzas’s house around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

They allegedly connived in selling a sachet of suspected shabu for P3,500.

Recovered from their possession were six sachets of suspected shabu, including the buy-bust item; the marked money, several shabu paraphernalia, and other non-drug items.

Dicen said all suspects are considered as street level pushers. Manuel was the target of the operation.

It took around three weeks for the police to nail the suspects.

But Celiz denied that he had something to do with illegal drugs. He claimed that he only went to their house for a visit.

It was gathered that Sandy and Celiz have been friends since both of them work as house painters.

According to reports, the two brothers were previously arrested in a drug-related offense in 2015. They were released from jail in 2020.

Police conducted the operation against the suspects following persistent reports that their house has been used as the meet-up place of known thieves in Iloilo City.

The two brothers have been mum over their arrest.

But police claimed that the illegal drugs they have been selling was still the stocks left by their father who was also arrested in a buy bust operations at month.

The suspects are now detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
