Two brothers were injured after they were shot afternoon of Jan. 6, 2024 in Lambunao, Iloilo.

The victims were identified as Denmark Lastimoso, 29, and Anthony Lastimoso, 22, both residents of Barangay Panuran, Lambunao.

Denmark sustained pellet wounds on the right side of the chest, back, right shoulder, right arm and right portion of his butt.

Anthony, on the other hand, suffered pellet injuries on the right side of his chest, right portion of his back, and on the nape.

According to reports, the two farmer-brothers were on their way to their grandfather’s house around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday when the suspect, a certain Jenel Libuna, saw them.

The two brothers and Libuna had a confrontation until the latter took a 12 gauge shotgun and shot the victims.

The suspect immediately fled and remains at large as of press time.

The two victims were brought to Dr. Ricardo Ladrido Memorial Hospital in Lambunao for treatment.

Major Jogen Suegay, Lambunao police chief, said they are now in stable condition.

Investigation showed that the Jan. 6 attack was an offshoot of an incident between the suspect and the victims on Dec. 30.

The three had a heated argument over their farmed properties.

But Suegay did not elaborate further.

Police said the three had no derogatory records prior to the incident.
