Bryan Bagunas is coming home to the Philippines and is ready to boost the Cignal HD Spikers in the upcoming 2024 season of the Spikers’ Turf professional volleyball men’s tournament.
The HD Spikers management confirmed their latest addition last January 30, 2024, in a graphic social media post on their official Facebook account.
However, it is still unknown what month will Bagunas suit up for Cignal due to his current Asian import stint with the Win Streak club in the Top League volleyball in Taiwan.
Bagunas is still their reinforcement in the ongoing season after leading the squad to a championship title last year.
After his win with Win Streak in Taiwan, Bagunas made history as the first Filipino to win a volleyball championship on the international scene.
Bagunas followed the footsteps of Jaja Santiago who also made history after becoming the first Filipina volleyball player to clinch a title as an import in Japan after carrying the Ageo Medics against the NEC Red Rockets last March 2021.
Now that Bagunas will be donning the red and white jersey of Cignal, the HD Spikers once again turned into favorites to win the Spikers’ Turf conference.
“Alam naman natin isa na sila sa pinakakilala at pinakarespetadong teams sa men’s volleyball dito sa Pilipinas, kaya umaasa akong makakatulong ako sa kanilang mahabang listahan ng mga tagumpay,” said Bagunas.
Still with the HD Spikers are reigning league MVP Jao Umandal, Lloyd Josafat, Alfred Valbuena, EJ Casaña, Wendel Miguel, and JP Bugaoan.
Cignal also signed Ron Rosales, Giles Torres, Madz Gampong, Nas Gwaza, Cian Silang, and Vince Lorenzo for the 2024 season.
