BSP, DepEd, BDO Foundation Boost Financial Literacy

PASIG CITY— The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Department of Education (DepEd), and BDO Foundation have strengthened their collaboration to enhance financial education for K-12 students, teachers, and DepEd personnel.

BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, DepEd Secretary Sonny Angara, and BDO Foundation President Mario Deriquito formalized the initiative through a memorandum of agreement signed on January 8, 2025, at the DepEd Central Office.

The partnership aims to expand financial literacy efforts in schools by integrating financial education into the K-12 curriculum.

As part of the initiative, DepEd will disseminate financial learning materials, including lesson exemplars and educational videos, to equip students and educators with essential money management skills.

“We will intensify efforts to ensure these resources reach schools and are effectively used in classrooms,” Angara said during the signing ceremony.

The BSP, DepEd, and BDO Foundation continue to champion financial inclusion and literacy, recognizing its role in empowering young Filipinos to make informed financial decisions.
