BuildHub, BPI partner to boost construction funding

BuildHub PH has teamed up with the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) to offer construction businesses credit lines of up to ₱30 million, including collateral-free options.

The partnership aims to address a key challenge in the construction industry—access to flexible capital—and provide financial solutions to contractors and hardware stores.

Announced on September 10, 2024, at BPI’s Ayala Triangle Gardens office, the collaboration between BuildHub and BPI marks a significant step in empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the construction sector.

Through BPI’s Ka-Negosyo Credit Line (KCL), businesses using BuildHub’s platform will have access to financing to support project completion, inventory expansion, and operational growth.

“At BPI, we are committed to empowering SMEs across all sectors, including small businesses in construction. Our partnership with BuildHub PH is aligned with our dedication to providing innovative financial solutions that drive growth,” said BPI Business Banking Head Dominique Ocliasa.

Driving Growth and Innovation

With construction businesses often constrained by a lack of financing, BuildHub PH’s platform offers a solution by leveraging BPI’s financial expertise.

The partnership allows businesses that have been active on the BuildHub platform for at least 12 months to apply for the credit line with minimal documentation.

Contractors and hardware stores can benefit from competitive interest rates ranging from 1% to 3% for short-term loans.

“Our partnership with BPI opens up significant capital for our users without the traditional barriers, like collateral, that often hinder growth. This initiative will not only fuel business expansion but also enhance the overall competitiveness of the construction industry in the Philippines,” said Richard Lim, Co-CEO of BuildHub PH.

The financial tools provided through this collaboration are designed to help businesses across the country, particularly in high-demand regions such as Davao, where BuildHub showcased its solutions during the PhilCon Mindanao Expo earlier this month.

Digital Innovation in Construction

The partnership aligns with BuildHub’s mission to modernize the construction industry through digital solutions. The platform offers features like BuildCredit, which streamlines financial management for construction businesses, and the Seller Dashboard, which improves logistics.

“By merging BPI’s financial expertise with BuildHub’s tech-driven solutions, we’re able to address a critical gap in the construction industry—access to timely and flexible capital,” said Andre Bernardo, Co-CEO of BuildHub PH. “This partnership empowers businesses to move faster and smarter, unlocking new opportunities for growth and efficiency.”

With this initiative, BuildHub and BPI aim to support the digital transformation of SMEs in the construction industry, providing the financial resources needed to fuel their growth in an evolving market.
