BACOLOD City – A Ceres bus liner crashed into a house at Barangay Bulata in Cauayan, Negros Occidental Monday morning.
Police Major James Latayon Jr., Cauayan police chief, said two children were inside the house owned by Loisa Braza when the bus driven by Barmy Lacida, 33, of Kabankalan City, rammed into the fence.
Fortunately, the two children were unharmed, the town police chief said.
Latayon said the bus was traveling from Bacolod City to Hinoba-an town past 10 a.m. when Lacida allegedly lost control of the vehicle due to mechanical trouble.
The bus was loaded with 36 passengers, but all of them were unharmed and were transferred to another bus.
Meanwhile, Jesedith Marquez Seballos, legal and media relations manager of Vallacar Transit Inc. (VTI), said the bus driver will be investigated to determine if the accident was really caused by an engine trouble or human error.
She said the bus company is willing to extend assistance for the repair of the house.
“We are going to assess first how much damage the accident caused the house owner,” she added.
